American Officers Arrested in Venice

FIVE officers of the American cruiser Chicago were arrested by the police of Venice on April 25 for disorderly conduct, and imprisoned. Through the intervention of the American consul and the clemency of the king of Italy, the men were finally pardoned and released, after paying damages to the amount of $2,000.
