Chilean and Argentine Naval Rivalry

A SPECIAL session of the Chilean Congress has been called for the present week to provide money for increasing the Chilean navy. Argentina has announced her intention of maintaining the strongest navy in South America. So we may expect now to see a navy-building race between these countries, and incidentally another illustration of the spirit of the times—preparation for war.
