Boer Peace Negotiations at Pretoria

Negotiations are still in progress at Pretoria, South Africa, between the Boer leaders and Lord Kitchener. Altho telegrams have been exchanged between Lord Kitchener and the British Government in reference to the Boer propositions, it is evident that no definite plan for the accomplishment of peace has yet been agreed upon. At least nothing has yet been given to the public. While the generals have been in conference, some hard fighting has occurred in the field, in which about 300 casualties occurred all told, with little gain to either side.
