Chicago Street Railway Strike

The firemen of the Chicago street-railway powerhouses went on strike on April 21 to force the company to reinstate certain discharged employees. The company at first refused to yield; but when the teamsters’ union refused to deliver coal to the powerhouses, the roads were compelled to cease operations, and the company acceded to the demands of the men.
