Children Fund Missionary Work in Mindanao

CHILDREN in the Sandwich Islands have raised $10,000, with which to inaugurate missionary work on the island of Mindanao, in the Philippines. Some sentiment enters into their gift, since they aim to do for others what missionaries from the United States have done for them. They have asked the American Board to undertake the administration of the proposed Philippine effort, but that body has tacitly promised not to enter upon Philippine work at present, but to confine itself to the Caroline Islands and the Ladrones.—New York Christian Advocate.
