The Value of Fresh Air

One of the freest things that earth knows, outside of factories, slums, and tenement houses, over which greed has spread his almost impermeable tent, is air; and yet how many shut it away. Doors and windows are closed at night to shut out “night air,” just as if night had another air than night air. Some of the greatest singers the world knows recognize its value. Madam Patti, for instance, says that it is the elixir of life. She sleeps with her windows open eight hours a day, and drinks only milk and water. It is among the greatest, altho the most common, of God’s blessings.
