The Crisis Is With the Church

“The Crisis,” in religion, about which so many of our contemporaries are talking, is not on God's part. The great armory of heaven is stocked with complete panoplies of armor, with invulnerable coats of mail, with two-edged swords for every volunteer soldier. The treasuries of God's kingdom are all open for all the needs of His army. He furnishes the Captain who never lost a battle. All heaven is ready. Where, then, is the trouble?—With the church. Face it squarely. It is no time for flattery or self-delusion. The trouble is with the church, with the ministry, with the individual church-members, with me. O “have faith in God.” Let in His life.
