The Cost of the Boer War

The total cost of the Boer war to England in money up to the present time aggregates about one billion dollars. It is costing now about $22,500,000 per month. The estimated cost for the present year is placed by the War Secretary at $305,350,000. The British forces have lost, by death or permanent disabilities, 25,305 men. The number of men who have been wounded or disabled and afterward returned to the field is 80,536.
