Subject To God’s Law.

It is becoming very common to hear religious teachers boldly proclaiming that they do not hold themselves subject to the law of God. Even some whose church creed affirms the everlasting perpetuity of the Ten Commandments—and nearly all church creeds do—take refuge in the no-law position when loyalty to God’s law in Sabbath-keeping is preached by the Gospel. It is but a fulfilment of the Lord’s words concerning the last days. “Because iniquity [literally, lawlessness] shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matt. 24:12. This claim of not being subject to God’s law is a true but sad confession. “The carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” Rom. 8:7. Only the one who will let God save him from sin can be subject. The Lord Jesus died that He might destroy the carnal, fleshly mind, and our salvation is in letting Him do so.—Oriental Watchman.
