The Value of a Life

THE par value of every life is the value of the service which that life renders to its own age. But that is not its whole value. Some lives are below par a week after the funeral; others being dead still speak, and the whisper of their initial utterance swells to an anthem that echoes down the centuries.—William E. Barton.
