Insurrection in Formosa

Reports from Formosa state that there is an insurrection in that island against the Japanese Government. The insurgents have taken to the swamps and jungles, where the Japanese troops find it difficult to locate them or cope with them effectually. The last battle, in which the Japanese lost 41 killed and wounded and the insurgents 168, resulted in no marked advantage to either side, and more Japanese troops are being sent to the disaffected district.
