BE SOMETHING.

BEFORE you decide that, because you have no special gifts, you will not be able to do something in the way of soul-winning, at least make up your mind to be something. Make up your mind to be consistent. Make up your mind to discard everything which can in any way hinder the progress of the church in saving souls.
If you are not able to win one soul, at least make sure that you have put no stumbling-block in the way of one who might have been won. You may be certain that the dance, the card-table, and the theater do not harm you; but you can't shut your eyes to the fact that the overwhelming majority of those who do judge them to be wrong, are the most active, most spiritual Christians. You know, too, that avowedly worldly people haven't, as a rule, a particle of confidence in the Christian who indulges in these pleasures. You see there is higher ground than the simple question of how much I may do without imperiling my own soul.—Anon.
