Committee to Heal Breach Between Capital and Labor

The committee chosen for the purpose of finding a way of healing the breach between capital and labor met at New York on December 18, organized, and elected officers. M. A. Hanna was chosen chairman and Samuel Gompers first vice-chairman. The expressed purpose of this organization is to establish rightful relations between the laborers and their employers, to encourage agreements under which labor shall be performed, and to encourage the arbitration of disputes.
