The Imperiled Sabbath

“The National Reform Association stands for the ‘defense of our imperiled sabbath,’ says that body’s organ. An ‘imperiled sabbath’ must have a very insecure foundation. It can not be based on any authority of God, else nothing could imperil it. And that is just the trouble with the ‘imperiled sabbath.’ It was established by the authority of man, on the first day of the week, as a rival of the Sabbath of the Lord. Of course it is ‘imperiled;’ for the works of man will all come to naught, ‘but the word of the Lord endureth forever.’”
