MORE LIGHT.

Long since I walked alone, That Christless course, my own, Around the heart of stone: Yet all the world seemed bright Beyond my soul’s own night
Then dropped a lowly star, Anointing from afar, And touched my spirit’s bar; Lo, now, its inner light Makes day without seem night.
Still kindle, Christ, my soul Till it illumes the whole, God’s in and out, aright; Or quench my candle’s dole And give again the night, That I may know the Light.
