Courage in the Lord’s Cause

Cowardice in the presence of an enemy is not to be tolerated, because it is contagious. The Lord gave direction to Israel, when they should “come ‘nigh unto the battle,” that any man who was fearful and faint-hearted should “return unto his house, ‘lest his brethren’s heart faint as well as his heart.’” A few courageous men are always more effective than a host of cowards. It is well to remember this in going to battle in the Lord’s cause.
