San Francisco Strike Ends After Eleven Weeks

THE great strike of teamsters and dock laborers which had continued in San Francisco for eleven weeks, came to an end on October 2, and the business of the city is again approaching its normal condition. The strike was characterized by much cruelty. Some lives were lost, and very many were maimed for life, while scores were beaten, bruised, and disabled temporarily. The demands of the strikers were not acceded to, and the employers look upon the outcome as a victory for them.
