Netherlands Plans Coastal Land Reclamation

THE government of the Netherlands is now planning for the reclamation of another large tract of land from the ocean. The plan is to build a dike from the North Holland coast to the island of Wieringen and thence to the Frisian coast, and then pump out the water. This would mean the reclamation of 114,901 acres of land.
