Another Bible Revision

Another Bible Revision.—This time it is by the Protestant Episcopal Church. It leaves untouched, we understand, the King James, or common version, but completely revises the marginal readings of the common version and Revised Version. It will doubtless be adopted by the Triennial Convention now in session in San Francisco. With this adoption is the consent of the church that its clergymen may substitute in the services of the church the marginal reading for the regular text. These marginal readings are said to number about as many as now appear in the King James version. We are glad of this new revision. We welcome everything likely to awaken a reading of the Word. But it does sound strange that a minister of Jesus Christ must obtain consent to the reading of the Word of God in different renderings.
