WHAT HAVE YOU MISSED FROM LACK OF WILLING CONSECRATION?

“But yield yourselves unto God.” Rom. 6: 13.
A STRANGER once called at the great Friedberg Cathedral and asked permission to play on the organ. The custodian was very stiff and unwilling to allow him access to the great instrument, but permitted him to sit down for a few moments, while he listened and tested his ability. He was soon amazed at the touch of that master-hand. Before he had played many moments, he was listening spellbound to the unearthly music that was coming forth from the pipes. “Who are you, anyhow?” he asked. “Why,” replied the other, “I am Mendelssohn, and this organ was built at my directions.” Then the official could not find words enough in which to express his humiliation, and apologized. “To think,” he said, “that I should have kept Mendelssohn from his own organ.” Alas! how many are keeping the master-hand of Him who made us for Himself from the keys of our being. Let Him have you, and He will bring out of your life its highest and its best, and make your whole existence a psalm of praise, a doxology of glory to God who made you for Himself.—Watchword and Truth.
