Haussa as the Language of Tropical Africa’s Future

It is said that the Haussa language, spoken by one of the finest of the African peoples, is already the language of one per cent. of the population of the globe, and there is a committee in this country, upon which are the Archbishops of York and Canterbury, the main object of which is to further the scientific study of the language. A Haussa-English dictionary is soon to be published by the Cambridge University Press. The author, Mr. Charles Henry Robinson, thinks that the Haussa language will be the language of the future in Tropical Africa.—Present Truth, London.
