Boers Determined to Continue the War

LORD KITCHENER reports from South Africa that 13,000 Boers are still under arms, and that a large number of British troops are still necessary in the “wearing-down process.” These troops are much scattered, some of them being in Cape Colony. Steyn, De Wet, and Botha have all written to General Kitchener, declaring their determination to continue the war. They are planning to hold all captured British as hostages, in case General Kitchener carries out his latest proclamation in regard to the banishment of all Boers hereafter captured under arms.
