Russian Forest Fires and Anti-Jewish Violence

TERRIBLE forest fires have been raging in several of the provinces of Russia, and the damage done is estimated at $50,000,000. The town of Penza, capital of the government of the same name, which had 50,000 inhabitants, is reported to have been practically wiped out, the inhabitants fleeing to the fields and woods. Jew-haters have laid the starting of the fires upon the Jews, and there has been much Jew-baiting in consequence.
