Electric Railway Traction Tested

A NEW system of electric railway traction has just been put through a successful test in Italy, where a train of five cars was moved at a rate of 45 miles an hour over a line 67 miles in length. This speed was attained without jarring, and was maintained on quite heavy grades. This new method of electric railway traction is known as the high-tension poly-phase system.
