Finding Rest in Work and Faith

Rest is not idleness, except to those physically incapacitated. Rest does not come by dawdling during a week or so of vacation, nor by violent and unnatural exercise. Rest is often accomplished by change of occupation. Rest is as often accomplished by coming into harmony and sympathy with one’s work.
“Rest is not quitting life’s busy career; Rest is the fitting of self to one’s sphere.”
That will take away the worry, and it is worry that kills more than work. Learn above all to “roll thy ‘burden upon the Lord.’” There is always rest in His service rightly served. “Take My yoke upon ‘you,’ says the Mighty One, “and learn of Me; . . . and ye shall find rest.”
