Earthslides in Butte, Montana

In the vicinity of Butte, Montana, there is a continual, tho intermittent, sliding of the earth, which results in great cracks in the solid granite walls of that mountain town. This phenomenon causes much annoyance and no little concern to the villagers of Butte, as gas and water mains are broken off, and the foundations of houses considerably interfered with.
