For a good book, an interesting book, for old and young, we recommend Dr. Wylie's "History of the Waldenses." It is well calculated to strengthen our faith in the power of the gospel to sustain the soul of the believer under the most bitter and cruel persecution, and to incite to perseverance in the cause of the Master. Paul's great lesson on faith, Heb. 11, is made up of instances of faithfulness under trials, and thus we have an inspired model for biographies of martyrs. Parents, give it to your children; they will be sure to be interested in it, and thus form a taste for good reading. See advertisement in this paper.
