Sunday Closing and Civil Support

The committee of ministers who opposed the opening of the Pan-American Buffalo Exposition will do all in their power to close the exposition by law. Sunday closing of theaters, drug-stores, and saloons has been ordered in Omaha. The Sunday question is blossoming into new life in many parts of the country. The moral proposition is very plain. If Sunday were a divine institution, it would demand no civil support. If its friends rightly knew Christianity, and believed it to be a Christian institution, they would demand no civil help.
