Chinese Petition for American Control

The War Department has received a petition which had been presented to General Chaffee in Peking by the native Chinese of the district where the American troops have been in control. The petitioners request that the Americans remain in control of that district. The Americans, however, have already begun to evacuate their quarters, and will soon be in Manila.
