Malvar Declares Himself Dictator

GENERAL MALVAR, who was expected to surrender with his command to the American commander in the Philippines, has now declared himself dictator of the Filipinos, to carry on the work laid down by Aguinaldo. He will make an effort to reconstruct the Filipino forces, and put new life into the Filipino cause.
