Rome’s Determination to Rule the World

ROME'S determination to rule the world was clearly set forth by Father Yorke, of San Francisco, in a lecture at Metropolitan Hall, on February 7, in the following language: “Rome is not an Italian city. It is the city of the church. The pope can afford to wait. The rock of Peter stands; the rock of Peter shall stand; and the pope in Rome shall rule when the memory of nations that held him captive shall be as a dark dream of the night.”
