GOING HOME.

GLAD is my heart to-night, Joy after tears, Banished the loneliness, Banished the fears, I'm going home.
Home to clasp father's hand, See his dear face, Find with the household band Sweet resting-place, I'm going home.
Friends of youth, kindred dear, Loved long ago, Sure a glad welcome there, Once more to know, I'm going home.
Tho to be parted soon, Joy 'tis to meet, Light for the days to come, Memories sweet, I'm going home.
Soon to the Father's house Christ's word is given, Soon to the mansions blest Waiting in heaven, I'm going home.
Vanish then, shadows drear, Murmurings, cease; Welcome the blessed word, Promise of peace, I'm going home.
He who so long hath loved, Waiting to greet, His love will compass The path to His feet, I'm going home.
