Dangers of the New Century
The “New York World” asked a number of the leading scientists, statesmen, reformers, etc., to make a brief answer to the question, “What is the chief danger, social or political, that confronts the new century?” There were none of the replies that did not express some danger that is confronting the world. One spoke of the danger from greed and covetousness; another, of the excessive craving for amusement; another, of racial antipathies and national animosities, and so on. There are dangers before the world at the present time that make everything of the past pale into insignificance. Men recognize this, and yet they seem to be under some strong influence that drives them on to ruin. God has made it perfectly plain what all this means. Why not stop long enough to consider what He has to say in His Word?
