THE PROMISES.

PRECIOUS are the promises of God. They are like pure, sparkling fountains that He has placed along our way as we journey to the heavenly land.
It is said that there are more than thirty thousand Bible promises. They meet every condition in life, and if we search, we shall find those adapted to our individual needs. One who sustained a physical injury, maiming him for life, remarked that no promise gave him such a thrill of joy as this, “The lame” shall “leap as an hart.” More than thirty years of suffering and blindness taught a sister to lean upon the promise, especially comforting to her, “Thine eyes shall see the King in His beauty.”
In the great battle against sin we may lean upon the strong promise, “I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying, Fear not; I will help thee.”
It is our high privilege to live by “every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
