SEVERE STORMS.

The coasts of England and Ireland have just been swept by a severe storm. The Eastern portion of this country has also been visited by one of the worst storms in many years. Many lives were lost and over one hundred vessels of various descriptions driven ashore.

Have you not observed how greatly storms are increased over former years? And do you know what it portends? The prophet points forward to a time when “the earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.” Isa. 24: 19, 20.

Meditate upon the words of God, and as you do so, His Spirit will give you the conviction of this important truth. And see to it that Satan does not stifle the conviction and keep you away from the tender care of Him who commands the boisterous elements, “Peace, be still,” and they obey Him. He is an “ever-present” help. Only call upon Him and He hears you. T.
