Sinner, Whoever You Are

Sinner, whoever you are, rich or poor, cultured or uncultured, savage or civilized, you can not save yourself. Your very best efforts “come short of the glory of God.” But the Gospel “is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” Only believe.
Do not believe in your power to believe. Do not stop to examine your “weak faith.” Do not weigh your unworthiness; you have not scales large enough. Simply believe God. “O, but my faith!”—Never mind your faith; believe God. Is not He worthy to be trusted? Is not He able? Is not He willing? Then believe Him; trust Him. Look away from self to Him.
