WILD FLOWERS.

Blest angels of God sent down to this world, A token of love in each petal unfurled, Bringing us joy with their faces so bright, Purity, peace, from the “Father of Light.”
We roam on the hillside and pluck them with glee, On mountain, meadow, in gorge, and on lea; We think of the Hand which their beauty has made, Given each shape and color to each tiny blade.
Our hearts thrill with rapture and praise to our God For the beauties of nature, His care, and His Word; We thank Him for these, and for sending His Son To suffer and die that our hearts might be won.
And now, bright-faced blossoms, thou hast gladdened our heart, We would thy blest comfort to others impart. To those then who have not thy beauty to cheer, We send thee with greetings; go dry thou the tear; Fill up with your brightness the home that is sad, The sick room of sadness by thy presence make glad. Thy sweetness and fragrance breathe out in the air, Directing the soul to God and to prayer.
