How Peace Comes.

Peace comes by surrender. The only true, lasting peace is the eternal peace of God, bought by Jesus Christ. The rebel is each soul in this world; “for all have sinned.” God is not at war with us. “The carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” God can not come into harmony with the carnal, selfish mind; He would cease to be God and Goodness should He do this. It is contrary to His very nature, and would be the greatest evil which could occur in the universe. The only surrender which can be made is on the part of the transgressor. And, reader, whenever you submit to God, surrender yourself to Him, there is peace. He wants you to be reconciled. He gave His Son that you might be. It awaits only your surrender of the thing which would destroy you, and your acceptance of the best terms ever offered to rebel. He asks you to give up your all; but in its place He gives you His all. Do you not want this peace? Would you not exchange your sins for His spotless righteousness, woven in the loom of heaven’s atmosphere? Will you not exchange your strife for His rest? That is what His peace means. “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.” It seems as tho all the world would accept the blessed boon.
