A VESSEL FOR HIS USE.

O God of my soul, look down from above, With tender compassion, with infinite love! O, purge me from selfishness, folly, and sin; Make me like Jesus; let me souls for Thee win!
My life is too selfish; I want more of Thee, More love for the erring, as Thou hast loved me, More tender compassion for those who may fall, To point them to Jesus, my all and in all.
There are many, yea, many, who in darkness now sit; Their life is all darkness, with Thy love unlit; They know not Thy Word, they know not Thy Son— O, let me, then, Lord, with peace to them run!
In lands far and near, even close by our door, Are those who are dying—from us help implore. They're starving for love such as Christ to us gave. O, make me Thy vessel, and now their souls save!
And at last, my dear Saviour, Redeemer, and Friend, If Thou wilt but use me, and me to souls send, In the time of Thy kingdom, as in each passing day, I will give Thee the glory forever and aye.
