Revival of Blue Laws.

There is a spirit of revival among the old blue laws. We read of Sunday-law agitation in New York State, in Cleveland, Ohio, in Tennessee, and elsewhere. A New York paper tells us in bold head-lines that in Mt. Vernon a man who “said ‘damn’ was fined $50.” It is the desire of all good men to see such unholy things cease. But they are mistaken when they look to civil force to compel to do what the Spirit of God alone can accomplish.
