A. CAMPBELL ON MORAL SOCIETIES.
In West Middletown, Pa., in 1820, a society was organized to enforce the observance of Sunday by civil law. Alexander Campbell opposed the society in a series of articles in the Reporter of Washington, Pa. The arguments of Mr. Campbell in showing that it is inconsistent and despotic for us to use force in attempting to propagate our religious ideas are sparkling with clearness, and can not fail to interest and instruct you. The International Religious Liberty Association, of 39 Bond Street, New York, has recently published these articles as a number of the Religious Liberty Library. You should not only read the tract, but should do all you can to circulate it. The price is 25 cents per hundred, or 1½ cents per copy. The Pacific Press Publishing Co., Oakland, Cal., New York City, and Kansas City, Mo., and also the Review and Herald Publishing Co., Battle Creek, Mich., Chicago, Ill., and Atlanta, Ga., handle this tract, together with all the publications of the Religious Liberty Association.
