By S. N. Curtiss
The following is the report of the chaplain of the Mission for the month ending May 31:— Sermons preached . . . 31
Bible-readings given in chapel . . . 58
Persons requesting prayers . . . 90
Persons professing Christ . . . 15
Men furnished employment for one or more days . . . 862
Garments distributed . . . 108
Persons using laundry . . . 691
Medical treatments given . . . 220
Garments fumigated . . . 4,496
Baths given . . . 693
Beds occupied one night . . . 2,434
Penny lunches served . . . 27,351 This is a very encouraging report, as it shows an increase in several items at a time of the year when such would not be expected. All the workers at the Mission are of good courage and united heart and hand in the work of saving souls. We hope that all who have contributed to the support of the Mission, as well as all others who are interested in its success, will remember the work and the workers in their prayers. We have recently been favored with some liberal cash contributions, the total amount received up to June 21 being $1,899.80.
