“REJOICING IN HOPE.”

BRIGHT-WINGÉD Hope, resplendent as the morn, Blest is the human heart when thou art born. As day star thou—vision of sunniest light! Thy gleams light up earth’s children’s darkest night.
Blest gift of Love art thou to erring soul, Yet folded are thy wings when earth’s the goal. Cradled art thou in darkest depths of night Till pain and anguish loose thy wings for flight.
Unheard by mortal ear thy rustling wing. On snowy pinion swift Love’s offering bring. O Hope divine, thou dost lone hearts sustain! Thy touch doth wake the dead to life again.
ELINOR HOPE PALMER.
