The Fall of Earthly Governments

When the war measures were pending in Congress, the following remark was said to have been made “by a fighting member of the administration” (N. Y. Journal, April 15): “Events seem to be leading up to the last grand crash before the millennium. Let them [the European powers] come, if they want to, plunge the world into war, but have no fear of America as to the outcome.” But, according to the Word of God, that Book which predicts the millennium, when the last great crash comes, all national governments, whether European or American, will be swept off the face of the earth (Dan. 2:44; 7:27; Rev. 11:15), “and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day” (Isa. 2:17).
