Good and Evil.

An esteemed correspondent asks, “Is evil perverted good?” We reply, No; for the simple reason that evil is already perversion. Good perverted is evil always. Supreme good is the perfect circle of God’s righteousness. Bent in the least respect, and it is no longer a circle. Perverting still more the perverted boundary line of the circle does not make it a true curve; it merely emphasizes the primary perversion. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Pervert or bend it but the least and the line is no longer straight, but crooked. Bending, or perverting, the crooked line still more does not make it straight. To make the crooked straight, it must be converted, made anew. As applied to character, only creative power can accomplish the work.
