There Is a Good Suggestion
There is a good suggestion to religious peoples in the report that the President of the United States has abolished the “Board of Strategy” at Washington, by which the army and navy were directed, and has left the disposition of troops and war ships to the men who will be held responsible for the work done. Many a religious work has come to naught in different parts of the world because God’s forces, or what ought to have been, on the very field of action, were waiting orders from some religious “board of strategy” hundreds or thousands of miles away. While waiting for orders, the enemy has gained the victory. O, that God’s people would learn always to look to God, who is everywhere present, to lead, to direct, to secure certain victory! And He is just as willing to guide two united, trusting souls in Timbuctoo as He is two others in America, it matters not what is their official position.
