Columbia College Tavern

The New York Voice has done strong, brave work in showing the parents throughout the land the temptations and iniquities to be found in the saloons, and other nurseries of vice and crime and death in the vicinities of some of the most noted institutions of learning in the country. It has shown that these drinking resorts are encouraged and patronized, if not by the officials as officials, by some of the officials and professors as individuals. Notable among these are Princeton, Yale, and Cornell. In its issue of April 28 the same paper shows the evil influences and effects of Columbia “College Tavern” on both professors and students. Surely no parent would care to send his son to such schools.
