THE SPIRIT OF THIS AGE.

THE spirit of this age is marked by an intense unrest. And the unrest is not of the ordinary kind, occasioned merely by dissatisfaction with present conditions. There is, it is true, an intense dissatisfaction all over the world because of present conditions. But there is more than dissatisfaction: there is a most marked uneasiness as to what will be the final outcome. So there is strongly mingled with the discontent of the present a dread and fear because of what the future may soon reveal.
But he who is viewing all these things from the correct standpoint, knows none of this uneasiness or fear. The Bible plainly tells him that all these perplexities among men are the sure tokens of the soon coming of the Saviour. And for that glad event he is patiently and gladly waiting.
