THE HELPING HAND AND MEDICAL MISSION.

We have just put in forty more beds in order to accommodate the increasing number who come to the Mission for lodgings. Some nights we have been obliged to turn away men, as we had no room for them, and some nights a dozen or more have slept in the chairs in the chapel.
Now the Mission is in need of more sheets, pillowslips, and blankets. Each bed and mattress cost $3.50, and the blankets, sheets, pillow, and pillowslips cost about $3.75 more for each bed, making the total cost of a bed (without an extra change of bedding), $7.25. Are there not forty people who would esteem it a privilege to furnish one bed each complete for the Mission? If so, let us hear from you at once. Perhaps some can afford to pay for bedding alone, or for bed and mattress, and if so, their donations will be very acceptable.
