A Sad Blow.—We regret to record that the Bowery Mission, 105 Bowery Street, New York, conducted by the Christian Herald, was destroyed by fire the morning of the 12th instant. At first, forty lives were reported lost, but only eleven bodies were found. We are sorry because of those who died, because of the poor who daily received help at its hospitable doors, and we extend hearty sympathy to its managers and supporters. There are none too many such places. Would there were many more.
